LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
Verdance Landscape Architecture is headquartered within the ancestral territory of indigenous peoples including Tamien Nation, Ramaytush Ohlone, and Muwekma Ohlone Tribe.
Our work is performed and installed, and our employees reside, on lands that were taken from—never ceded by—these peoples.
Hundreds of Tamien Nation and Ohlone people still live and thrive here and throughout the Bay Area. We have benefited, and continue to benefit, from the occupation and use of this territory which still holds great meaning for them: lands which sustained their ancestors for millennia and include sacred monuments, places of celebration, and cemetery sites.
We celebrate the Tamien Nation, Ramaytush Ohlone, and Muwekma Ohlone Tribe peoples as the original caretakers of this land, and strive to continue their stewardship of its soils, waters, plants, and animal habitats.
We respectfully ask you to join us in this acknowledgment and stewardship.
